Stacie & Darren’s Wedding at Gedney Farm
Stacie & Darren had a stunning summer wedding at Gedney Farm. On Saturday, there was the threat of rain all day long, but we totally lucked out and they were able to spend the day outside enjoying the stunning views surrounding Gedney Farm. Darren and Stacie work for a catering company in New Hampshire and are busy doing other people’s weddings most of the time. They met in culinary school in Denver, Colorado, and have moved together to a lot of different places around the country to cook in restaurants.
A note from Stacie:
We had a truly unforgettable wedding weekend! We loved Gedney Farm from the moment we set foot on the grounds. The farm is beautiful with so much character, and there are a ton of interesting spaces to gather. Darren and I are chefs and when we saw the open fire grill, we looked at each other with the same thought: Pig roast? Gedney’s Chef delivered with a local farm-raised pig that he started smoking the morning of our rehearsal dinner pig roast. Friends and family gathered to enjoy the feast and kick off the weekend.
Saturday threatened with rain but we decided to just go for it. It ended up being a beautiful day for our ceremony under the cherry tree on the knoll. The guys hung out and played lawn games while the girls got ready. Darren’s a pretty traditional so we decided against a first look. I will never forget that feeling of first seeing each other as I walked to him under the tree! We had such a blast taking photos too after the ceremony. Eric kept us laughing and relaxed and totally just enjoying the moment.
The night unfolded perfectly and everyone had so much fun. Instead of a photo booth we set up an area with a polaroid camera and guest book for guests to snap pictures. Dinner was fantastic, and we made sure to sit and enjoy it together. We had a pie bar for dessert, and my grandmother made us a special pie with rhubarb from my mom’s garden to cut for the ceremony. Dave had everyone on the dance floor all night long; I had friends trying to pool money together at the end of the night to convince him to stay longer!
It was so special to have our friends and family from all over the country come and celebrate with us, and we are so grateful to the all-star team who made it happen. Thank you Eric for these amazing photos that we’ll cherish for years to come!
