Kristen & Matt’s Wequassett Wedding on the Cape
The Cape has long been a popular wedding destination for couples looking for a picturesque and romantic location. However, with the summer traffic and crowds, it can be difficult to find the peace and tranquility needed for a perfect wedding day. Kristen and Matt, with their deep family ties to the area, discovered the perfect solution – a wedding at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club in April.
Wequassett Wedding on the Cape: A Perfectly Simple and Charming Celebration
Despite the potential weather risks of April in New England, Kristen and Matt were determined to make their wedding day a sunny and joyful occasion. The couple chose yellow freesias, peonies, and daisies paired with blue bridesmaid dresses for a summery feel. They also incorporated many thoughtful summer elements into their décor without going over the top. The couple handcrafted all the glass elements in their centerpieces and filled them with sand from the beach where they got engaged. Their guest book was a custom bat with the lyrics to their first dance song, Van Morrison’s “Someone Like You.” Other special touches included a garden window turned into a seating chart, a real lobster trap turned into a card box, and table numbers cut out of a nautical chart of the coast of Dennis, MA, where they got engaged.
The wedding day was all about sunshine and happiness, and music played a major role in creating the perfect ambiance. Kristen and Matt’s band, Beantown, was phenomenal, and they ended the night with “Shout,” with everyone on the dance floor. However, the most memorable part of the reception was when their musically inclined fathers surprised them with rocking renditions of Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop” and the Standell’s “Dirty Water,” backed by Kristen’s father’s high school band.
Overall, it was a fantastic day, with great friends and family. The couple couldn’t have asked for anything smoother or more reflective of their personal style. If you’re planning a wedding in the Cape and looking for a serene and charming venue, Wequassett Resort & Golf Club is definitely worth considering!
