Cristina & Dan’s Boston Public Library Wedding
Here’s what Cristina had to say about their wedding day:
Dan and I met and wanted to make our life in Boston, so we knew we wanted to be married there. We chose the Boston Public Library which allowed us to make use of the whole building for one night. We had 140 guests that consisted of only our closest friends and family. Knowing from experience that everyone is thirsty and hungry waiting for a wedding ceremony to be over, we decided to hold the cocktail hour first in the courtyard with a string quartet accompaniment. It allowed Dan and I to mingle a bit before the ceremony. I changed my dress after the cocktail hour so as to keep it more traditional that Dan would not see me in my wedding dress until I started walking down the aisle.
My bouquet was pink peonies, white roses, and lilies of the valley, and the groomsmen wore little peony bud boutonnieres. We were married by a rabbi and a priest who commonly performed interfaith marriages while standing under a chuppah in the Abbey Room of the library. It was perfect.
Finally, we moved to the Popular Reading Room for the reception where the room flowers were tall vases with ivy, white roses, green and white hydrangeas, and pink peonies. The decor was simple in ivory and champagne color schemes with gold accents and ivory satin table cloths. The best aspect of the reception was the band! Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night, and during the band’s break, we played salsa music. Eric captured the night much more eloquently than words can explain. He allowed us to feel assured that anything we may have missed would be beautifully portrayed in his photographs.
