The Mount is a country house in Lenox, Massachusetts, the home of noted American author Edith Wharton. Exchange vows and mingle with loved ones against the backdrop of The Mount’s colorful, award-winning formal gardens and the elegant interior of Edith Wharton’s historic mansion. Spanning nearly 50 acres, the gracious, spectacular estate is the perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding. During your event, the entire estate is closed to our visiting public so your guests can explore the house and gardens.

For your wedding at the Mount, choose from the exquisite French Flower Garden, inspired by the gardens at Versailles, or the intimate Italian Garden, inspired by renaissance architecture. After your ceremony you can host cocktails throughout the mansion and on the expansive terrace overlooking The Mount’s meticulously manicured property and the mountains beyond. Your guests are invited to wander through the exhibits on the mansion’s third floor.

The Mount can host up to 250 guests for dinner and dancing on their expansive tent site. They also offer an historic 1902 Stable as a venue for rehearsal dinners, after parties and other special events. The Mount also specializes in bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts, wedding favors, and personalized hotel welcome bags for your guests and family.

The estate, located in The Berkshires, is open to the public. The property was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1971.

The Mount Wedding Photos – Sam & Lisa’s Wedding at the Mount.

Exchange vows and mingle with loved ones against the backdrop of The Mount’s colorful, award-winning formal gardens and the elegant interior of Edith Wharton’s historic mansion. Spanning nearly 50 acres, the gracious, spectacular estate is the perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding.

What an AMAZING day! The flowers, the food, the venue, and the weather all contributed to Sam & Lisa’s perfect wedding day.

From Lisa: Sam and I knew we wanted to get married near his family’s cottage in Stockbridge. Sam’s family has been going to the Berkshires over the summer for generations, and I grew up in Massachusetts, so it is a very special place for both our families. Some of our favorites times together when we were dating were visiting his family in the Berkshires-hiking, eating and touring the old mansions in the area. As soon as we toured The Mount we knew it was the right spot for us–we loved the idea of hosting all our family and friends in such a beautiful, grand house that also felt intimate and cozy.

We ended up with perfect sunny weather and beautiful foliage, which is not a guarantee in mid-October in the Berkshires!

Our favorite moments were walking the grounds with Eric while taking pictures, our puppy barking when she saw me coming down the aisle, signing the ketubah with our closest friends and family, seeing our friends and family arrive at The Mount, coming down to join the party after we took a few moments together after the ceremony, and then dancing for hours! Our guests really brought their a-game. Also, finding Sam on the dance floor with an entire pint of ice cream that our caterer had kindly reserved for him.
