The Colony Club in Springfield
Sarah and Jake’s wedding day was a dream from start to finish, starting with group photos at Forest Park in Springfield, MA near the beautiful red bridge of the Aquatic Gardens and a few couples’ shots in the Rose Garden. All the stresses of months of planning paid off beautifully, from the cake made by Konditor Meister to the beautiful floral arrangements decorating the Lady of Cross Parish and the Colony Club provided by Flowers! Flowers! In Springfield, MA.
Sarah and Jake wanted the day to feel soft and romantic, with pale spring colors, roses, and peonies decorating every surface in the church and reception venue. Even the venue itself, the historic Colony Club, where Sarah works, was a hidden gem of Downtown Springfield where friends and family gathered to celebrate the newlyweds. Although once housed in Wesson Mansion on Maple Street, the historic Springfield Colony Club moved to its present home in Tower Square in 1973 and has been serving unique dining experiences in its new, exquisite facilities ever since.
During the ceremony, the chandeliers in the church were adorned with white rose balls, transforming the room into a real-life fairy tale, and the reception at the Colony Club featured a head table covered in rose petals and a live string trio on the patio that really got the crowd excited and having fun. There were even cornhole tables on the lawn where the younger crowd had a blast competing while the adults sipped on the free-flowing strawberry champagne and danced well into the night.
Overall, Sarah and Jake would highly recommend every element of the affair—from the hair and makeup stylings of Carve Beauty Bar in Holyoke, MA to the DJ performance of Sean Crawford—to anyone hoping to have a fairytale wedding at Lady of the Cross Parish of Holyoke, MA, and the Colony Club of Springfield, MA.
